It is one of the most well-preserved ancient marketplaces on the ancient Tea Horse Road in northwestern Yunnan and is known as the 'first stop of the Tea Horse Road'. With a long history dating back to the Yin and Shang dynasties, it is one of the important birthplaces of Yunnan's bronze culture. From the Tang Dynasty to the Song Dynasty, Shaxi became a concentrated area for salt produced in salt wells along the ancient Tea Horse Road, leading to unprecedented economic and cultural development. | After breakfast, take a bus to Napahai Scenic Area. Napahai is called "Napacuo" in Tibetan and "lake behind the forest" in Chinese. Napahai is located in the northwest of Shangri La County, 8 kilometers away from the county seat. It is a seasonal high mountain lake and one of the few subtropical swamps and swampy meadows in Yunnan Province. Due to the humid climate of the reserve, the grass grows faster than in similar regions. In May each year, the grasslands begin to sprout tender shoots, while the Napa grassland is already lush with green grass. At the beginning of June, various wildflowers bloom in competition, and in the vast grasslands, the exquisite flowers and rare grasses vie for beauty.
